Geneva Council Appoints 2nd Ward Alderman
The new alderman fills the seat left vacant in the July resignation of Mike Clements.
GENEVA, IL — The Geneva City Council has appointed Brad Kosirog, a longtime active community member, to the 2nd Ward Alderman seat.
In a news release on Thursday, the council said Kosirog was appointed during a Tuesday meeting to the vacant seat formerly held by Mike Clements, who resigned in July after two years on the council.
According to the release, Kosirog moved with his family to Geneva in 2014 and has been an active community member for several years.

The new alderman, the release states, has served on the city's planning and zoning commission since 2016 and has been on the Geneva Academic Foundation and Geneva Community Chest boards of directors. He has also worked for four years as a Kane County election judge.
“It’s an honor to have the confidence of the Mayor and my colleagues on the City Council to fill this position,” Kosirog said in a statement. “I look forward to getting to know the residents of the 2nd Ward, including their passions and interests.”

Kosirog's appointment to the council lasts through next year. From there, he can run for another term.
Kosirog owns a fastener distributorship company in Warrenville that has been in operation for 31 years.
