Geneva Eatery BASH Expected To Open 'Soon' After Water Service Project
BASH, short for Burger and Sushi House, is will be located in the former Bicycle Heaven and H4 Fitness space at 124 W. State St.

GENEVA, IL — New to downtown Geneva restaurant, BASH is expected to open on State Street "soon" after a water service installation the week of July 11, city officials said.
The hybrid eatery — the acronym stands for Burgers and Sushi House — will reside in the space formerly occupied by Bicycle Heaven and H4 Fitness. The new spot, at 124 W. State St., will be the restaurant's second in the Chicagoland area. The original location first opened in Ottawa in 2013.
Once open, BASH will be a destination for not only its namesake dishes but also cocktails, mac and cheese and kids' meal-sized bento boxes. Its website boasts of a staff that ranges "from local familiar faces to a team of sushi chefs with experience from across the world."

Two years after Geneva City Council voted 5-3 to approve an economic development incentive for the building, according to reports from What Now Chicago, the restaurant appears to be weeks away from opening. Before then, city officials said contractors have been hired to install new water service.
To accommodate the project, a block of westbound State Street will be reduced to one lane between July 11-15. The outside lane, as well as several parking spaces just west of Route 31, will close while both eastbound traffic lanes will remain open.

Work is expected to be complete July 15, weather permitting. Signage will be installed on the Fox River bridge to alert drivers of the closures, which could cause delays, according to city officials.
