Geneva Flag Lowered In Memory Of Former Alderman, Firefighter
Former firefighter John Schultz and former Alderman Robert Langeness both died Sunday, Dec. 1, according to the City of Geneva.

GENEVA, IL — The City of Geneva announced Friday the Geneva flag has been lowered in memory of former firefighter John Schultz and former Alderman Robert Langeness, as the City expresses its condolences to both families for their losses. Schultz, 49, from Geneva, died Sunday, according to a news release from the City. He served as a firefighter for the Village of Downers Grove and for more than 20 years was a paid on-call firefighter with the City of Geneva, according to the release. His obituary can be found online.
Langeness, 79, also passed away Sunday. He served three terms as a fifth ward alderman on the Geneva City Council from 1977 through 1989, and according to the City, was a very active community volunteer, all detailed in his online obituary.
The City added that all flags across the county will be lowered to half-staff Saturday in recognition of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
