GENEVA, IL — All eyes may be on the November general election, but Geneva is beginning to prepare for the consolidated election on April 1, 2025, when the mayoral seat and six alderman positions will be up for election.

April will mark the end of Kevin Burns's sixth term as mayor, more than two decades since he was first elected to office. One of two aldermanic seats in each of Geneva's five wards — currently held by Mike Bruno, Richard Marks, Becky Hruby, Amy Mayer and Robert C. Swanson — will also be up for grabs, each for a four-year term.

A vacant two-year aldermanic seat, open after Craig Maladra resigned from his position in September, will also be on the ballot.
