Geneva Nonprofits Get $726K In Coronavirus Relief From Kane Co.
The Kane County Board is sending some of the county's federal coronavirus-relief funding to three Geneva nonprofits.
GENEVA, IL — Three Geneva nonprofits are set to share about $726,000 in federal coronavirus-relief funding passed on by Kane County.
The Kane County Board recently approved about $3.05 million in relief for 32 nonprofits, with nearly a quarter of that going to nonprofits in the county seat.

A vast majority of relief funding for Geneva nonprofits will go to the Northern Illinois Food Bank, which stands to receive $642,100.
That money could provide more than $5 million in food for residents in need amid the coronavirus pandemic, with the Northern Illinois Food Bank able to procure $8 worth of groceries for every dollar it receives.

The Northern Illinois Food Bank hosts about two dozen distribution events every week, while supplying pop-up markets and food pantries across 13 counties.
In October, the organization distributed 9.7 million meals, or about 11.6 million pounds of food, to its network of more than 900 partners.
