Geneva Police To Take Polar Plunge For Special Olympics
The Geneva Police Department's goal is to raise $10,000 through the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge challenge.
GENEVA, IL — The Geneva Police Department will be plunging into cold water on March 2 to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois.
As part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge challenge, officers will plunge at Loon Lake within Silver Springs State Park in Yorkville.
The public is invited to watch the festivities.

The department's goal is to raise $10,000, and officials are turning to the public for help meeting the goal. Donations can be made online, with all proceeds supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities to participate in Special Olympics programs.
In 2024, Geneva police raised a record $62,000 during several Law Enforcement Torch Run events. For their efforts, Geneva earned third place in the state for police agencies between 25-75 officers in size.
