Geneva Winery Donates Portion Of Wine Sales To Friends Of Viking Ship
The 2019 cabernet sauvignon, bottled in celebration of Swedish Days this weekend, will be for sale until it sells out.

GENEVA, IL — Swedish Days is happening this weekend in Geneva, and to celebrate, Geneva Winery bottled a 2019 cabernet sauvignon. A portion of the sales made from the festival release will be donated to Friends of the Viking Ship.
The winery description of Swedish Days Cabernet Sauvignon: "With medium tannins, this wine features rich cherry and plum notes with hints of dark chocolate. Cold soaked and barrel aged in French Oak.
The red wine, priced at $29.95, became available at the winery, 426 S. Third St., Wednesday and will be for sale until the release is sold out, according to the Geneva Chamber of Commerce.

The funds being donated to Friends of the Viking Ship will be used to preserve the life-size replica of a ship that sailed from Bergen, Norway to the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893. The St. Charles-based nonprofit works on the ship's preservation, public display and permanent home.

The public has the opportunity to tour The Viking, housed at Good Templar Park, several times this year. Both docent-guided and self-led tours are available after an admission fee of $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 13 to 17.
