Geneva Winter Weather: Parking Restrictions, Snow Plowing

In Geneva, parking restrictions go into place after two inches of snow has fallen.

GENEVA, IL — With the possibility of a winter storm incoming Monday night, the City of Geneva is reminding residents of snow parking restrictions.

A strong storm system is expected to bring wet accumulation of between 2 to 5 inches, Patch reported. One round of snowfall is expected Monday night through early Tuesday, followed by a second round Tuesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service predicted peak snowfall rates between 8 p.m. Monday night to 1 a.m. Tuesday and again late Tuesday morning through mid-afternoon. The entire Chicago area is under a winter weather advisory from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to the weather service.

Residents are asked to move their parked cars off the street beginning at midnight Jan. 9 until further notice, officials said in an alert Monday. Drivers are asked to limit travel if possible given the expected snow-covered roads and slippery travel conditions.
