Geneva Woman Remembered for Work With History Museum, Chamber of Commerce

jamie Daniel has died at age 95.

GENEVA, IL - A Geneva woman who dedicated years to the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Geneva History Museum has died at age 95. Jamie Daniel died on Tuesday. The city of Geneva will lower its flags to half staff through Monday, May 8 in memory of Daniel, according to a news release.

"Jamie's generous spirit, admiration for Geneva and her tireless efforts to enhance and advance our community's promise and reputation was profound," Mayor Kevin Burns said in the news release.

Daniel was very active in the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and the Geneva History Museum. She also was a recipient of the Chamber's prestigious Wood Award, which honors an individual who has made significant community contributions in the areas of business, education, youth involvement, civic organizations, arts, recreation, charity or government, according to a news release.

In memory of Daniel, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Geneva History Museum on Saturday, May 20, beginning at 1 p.m.
