Let Geneva Patch Help Make Your Garage Sale a Success

Garage sale season is shifting into high gear, and Geneva Patch is a great place to publicize your sale. It's easy and it's free, and all you need to do is post an event. Here's how to do it:

On Geneva Patch, just hover the cursor over the Events tab at the top of the page. Then click "Add an Event." You'll also see "Add an Event" in that green bar under the "Editor's Choice" stories—and on a couple other places on the home page.

Then you just add your garage sale to our calendar of events. 

Fill out the various fields, and under "Categories," click the "Garage Sales" box. You can also upload photos of the cool things you're selling, or even a video. If the sale goes for more than one day, click the box for "This event happens more than once" to add days and hours.

Then click on the "Post My Event" button on the bottom left of the screen, and you're done!

Patch has great Search Engine Optimization capability, so you know you're getting your message out, primarily to folks in Geneva but also in a place where people in the area can find it if they're looking for garage-sale deals. And of course, by posting the event, we'll help alert people to your sale in the email newsletter that goes out to our registered users.

Plus, if you get the info about your garage sale posted on our calendar by Wednesday, we'll link to it in a story about the weekend's sales on our homepage on Friday and Saturday.
