Longtime Local Volunteer Dies

George Krippner died at the age of 80.

GENEVA, IL – A longtime Geneva volunteer died earlier this month. George Krippner served on the city's zoning board of appeals, an advisory commission, from 1985 to 2010. He died on March 5 at the age of 80.

After moving to Geneva in 1967, he and his wife Sheila raised five children in their home on Peyton Street. Outside of his work as a lawyer, he was active in the community coaching basketball, timing swim meets, as well as serving on boards with St. Peters and Marmion Academy, according to a city news release.
