Outdoor Movies, Concerts Move From Geneva's Waterlogged Island Park

Flooding has led to a change of scenery for music and movies in the park festivities.

GENEVA, IL - Flooding has led to a change of scenery for music and movies in the park festivities.

Geneva Park District representatives announced Monday that they will not be hosting upcoming events in waterlogged Island Park. Instead, attendees should head to River Park at 151 North River Lane.

Next up at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, are The StingRays, a band boasting rock 'n roll classics from the 50s, 60s and 70s. A Caribbean, classic and raggae rock performer, Mr. Myers, will take center stage the following week at 7 p.m. on Aug. 2.

Firehouse Pizza & Grill and Kilwins will be selling pizza slices, beverages, and ice cream at both concerts.

Movie-goers should grab their blankets and lawn chairs and head to River Park on Thursday, Aug. 3, for a showing of "Sully." Concessions will be available.
