Penrose Brewing, Graham's Chocolates Team Up For Beer

GENEVA, IL — Two Geneva staples are collaborating to bring a chocolate beer to the market.

Penrose Brewing and Graham's Fine Chocolates and Ice Cream released Friday the Penrose Graham's Chocolate Porter, described as a "luscious fusion of chocolate and craft brewing" that promises beer enthusiasts and chocolate lovers an "extraordinary sensory experience."

"With each sip, you'll be treated to a luxurious medley of chocolate and roasted malt, balanced to deliver a harmonious blend of sweetness and bitterness," Penrose staff wrote in a news release.

Besides enlightening taste buds, the porter also serves a greater purpose. A portion of the proceeds from the brew will be donated to TriCity Family Services, a nonprofit organization that provides mental health services to people in Geneva, Batavia and St. Charles.

The chocolate porter is available on tap, as growler fills, in 16-ounce four-packs, and at local retailers in limited quantities.
