Second Man Dies From West Chicago House Fire: Report
Richard Henning, 92, was pronounced dead Friday, nearly two days after a fire took over a West Chicago home, also killing Brian Bachman, 52.

WEST CHICAGO, IL — A second man is dead as a result of injuries he suffered during a house fire Wednesday in the 100 block of West Grand Lake Boulevard. According to the Cook County medical examiner, 92-year-old Richard Henning was pronounced dead Friday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, the Daily Herald reported. The medical examiner said Henning died of "thermal and inhalation injuries due to a house fire," according to the news report.
According to the Daily Herald, 52-year-old Brian Bachman, of Winfield, also died from the fire, and was found dead in a bedroom Wednesday night.
The two men and a woman were inside at the time after the fire broke out. However, the woman was able to escape before emergency crews arrived.

No firefighters were injured battling the blaze. A police officer was treated for heat exhaustion.

Fire Chief Patrick Tanner said the fire has been ruled accidental after it started at the front of the house in an enclosed porch, according to the Daily Herald. Tanner also said investigators were unable to determine caused the fire to start due to the amount of the damage to the porch, the news report added.
