SWAT Training In Geneva To Use Paintball-Like Rounds

GENEVA, IL — The McHenry County SWAT team is planning a police training Friday in Geneva.
The training will happen at a residence in the 700 block of Fargo Boulevard. The exercises are not expected to disrupt the neighborhood, but a large number of police vehicles will be in the area, officials said ahead of the event.
Police will focus on potential responses to emergencies involving an armed person. Officers will use simunition rounds, similar to paintballs, to stimulate a violent threat. No live weapons will be fired.

Signs will be posted in the residence's driveway to alert locals and passersby. Safety officers will be onsite during the day.
