Trick-Or-Treating In Geneva: 2025 Hours Revealed

Children will also have the opportunity to collect candy the night before Halloween at various businesses in downtown Geneva.

GENEVA, IL — Fall weather has descended upon Geneva, and that means Halloween is right around the corner.

The holiday falls on a Friday this year, and the City of Geneva set its recommended trick-or-treating hours for 3-7 p.m. Oct. 31.

Children will have a second opportunity to collect candy during the Downtown Trick-Or-Treatingevent Oct. 30. Children can dress up and visit participating businesses from 2-5 p.m.

Shops and restaurants will display signs on their windows or doors to indicate they're hanging out treats.

Police provided a list of tips to help the community have a safe and enjoyable Halloween:

  • Please turn on your porch light if you are handing out candy
  • If you choose not to participate, please turn your porch lights off
  • Trick-or-treat with a group if possible.
  • Make sure children have a clear field of vision and wear light-colored costumes or incorporate reflective tape
  • Use caution when crossing streets and check all directions for cars
  • Do not enter into any homes
  • Check all treats once you arrive back at home. Only eat unopened candy that is in its original packaging
  • Respect others and their property

Since Halloween is not a City of Geneva holiday, staff do not provide guidance on any events that may be canceled due to weather.
