48 Drivers Cited During Halloween Safety Crackdown In DuPage County

Drivers were cited for speeding, failing to signal, driving without insurance and other violations during the sheriff's office's crackdown.

DUPAGE COUNTY — Forty-eight drivers were cited during a recent uptick in traffic enforcement in DuPage County for a Halloween safety initiative.

These included:

  • 24 speeding tickets
  • 7 distracted driving citations
  • 6 tickets for driving without insurance
  • 4 citations for disobeying traffic signals
  • 3 tickets for failing to signal
  • 1 ticket for passing on the shoulder
  • 1 ticket for improper lane usage
  • 1 ticket for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle
  • 1 ticket for driving with expired license plates

The safety initiative began Oct. 24 and lasted through Nov. 3. It was part ongoing statewide campaigns to promote safe and sober driving.
