Cops Increase Patrols To Combat Speeding In Glen Ellyn
The initiative is part of a statewide safety campaign targeting speeding drivers.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — Police in Glen Ellyn will be out in full force as part of a statewide safety campaign to target speeding drivers.
The increased enforcement began July 7.
Glen Ellyn Police Department stressed in a news release that motorists will be ticketed for driving over the speed limit.

The news release said, "Speeding is one of the most prevalent factors contributing to traffic crashes, fatalities, and injuries. No matter how safe of a driver you think you may be, speeding is dangerous. Speed limits aren’t a suggestion, they are the law."
The campaign, which includes over 200 police departments throughout the state, will run through Aug. 1.
