Fire Causes $100K In Damage To Home In Lombard
A fire broke out in a Lombard home Tuesday morning.
LOMBARD, IL — A fire caused more than $100,000 in damage to a home in Lombard early Tuesday, displacing its residents. Officials say the fire was exacerbated by a propane tank near the home.
Firefighters were called to the intersection of Charlotte Street and Harrison Road just before 5:30 a.m. for a report of a house fire. When fire crews arrived, they learned that residents had gotten out of the home safely, along with their pet.
The propane tank outside the home caused the fire to spread quickly over the back of the house, a news release said. Ventilation holes were cut into the roof of the home to let out smoke and heat from the interior.
