Fireworks, Alcohol, Cannabis: Up To 300 Teens Stormed Sunset Pool
One teen was arrested after police say they threw a firework out of a moving car that landed near pedestrians.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — Somewhere between 200 and 300 teens stormed Sunset Pool Saturday evening as part of what residents are calling a "teen takeover." The incident took place around 5 p.m.
Deputy Chief Kurt Vavra told Patch many of the teens went through the admission gate without buying entry and were drinking alcohol, lighting off fireworks and consuming cannabis. One teen was arrested for throwing a firework out of a car "in close proximity to pedestrians" and charged with disorderly conduct.
The park closed early as a result of the incidents, Vavra said.
