Gator Race To Benefit Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation
Sunset Pool will be filled with alligators...rubber ones...for the park district's first-ever Gator Race on Aug. 22.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Park District is poised to set its first-ever Gator Race Aug. 22, finding Sunset Pool filled with colorful (rubber!) alligators to benefit the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation.
Residents can effectively adopt one of the alligators for a chance to rake in prizes that include passes to Sunset Pool and gift cards that can be used at village shops and restaurants. The more gators one adopts, the greater (I didn't even rhyme on purpose there) the chance of victory. Here's a roundup of the cost to adopt each gator:
- One gator: $10
- Four gators: $25
- 20 gators: $100
Gators zoom down the pool slide in multiple heats. Participants do not need to attend the event to win. Emails will be sent to winners after the race concludes.
