Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce Seeks Nominations for Community Awards

The following is a press release from the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce:

"The Glen Ellyn Village Fair Committee and the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce are seeking nominations from the community for the 2017 Community Awards. The Glen Ellyn Community Awards is a chance for the community to say thank you to all the hard working people that make Glen Ellyn a wonderful place to live, learn, work, dine, shop and play.

It’s a time to honor public servants, teachers who are educating our children, employees who give 100 percent, store fronts that go the extra mile in customer service and all the amazing residents, both young and young at heart, who volunteer so much of their time and talents.

New this year, nominations can be submitted online, which allows for an easier and more convenient process for community members. The nomination form can be found online at www.GlenEllynChamber.com/awards.

Additionally, nominations can be submitted in person at the Chamber office. All nominations must be collected by noon on Friday February 17, 2017. Individuals may nominate in multiple categories, but are only allowed to submit one form.

Nominations are sought in the following categories:

Citizen of the Year

Distinguished Service Award

D41 Educator of the Year

D87 Educator of the Year

D89 Educator of the Year

Firefighter of the Year Service

Library Volunteer of the Year

Non-Profit of the Year

Park District Volunteer of the Year

Police Officer of the Year

Restaurant of the Year

Retail Business of the Year

Senior Citizen of the Year

Service Industry Business of the Year

Village Employee of the Year

Youth of the Year

Award recipients will be recognized at the Community Awards Breakfast, held on Saturday, March 4th from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza, 1250 Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Award Breakfast tickets are $25 per person and are available by phone, at the Chamber office or online at www.GlenEllynChamber.com/awards.
