Glen Ellyn Man Accused Of Beating Woman In Joliet
Phillip Valerio, 38, was charged with domestic battery and domestic violence. Police say he had suspected cocaine and pills on his person.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — A Glen Ellyn man faces multiple felony charges after police say he attacked a woman during a domestic violence incident in Joliet in which he had a substance suspected to be cocaine and pills in his possession.
Phillip Valerio, 38, was charged with domestic violence, domestic battery, resisting/obstructing a peace officer and possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver in connection with the April 5 attack.
Police were called to a home in the 800 block of North Prairie Avenue just after 9:10 a.m. Saturday regarding a domestic disturbance, according to Dwayne English, a spokesperson for the Joliet Police Department.

Valerio is accused of taking the woman's phone before he grabbed her and hit her on the head. According to police, Valerio was later taken into custody in the parking lot of the CVS store at 809 Plainfield Rd. after a brief foot pursuit.
He is accused of having prescription pills and "suspected cocaine" on his person when he was searched by police.
