Fall is a time when we can carve pumpkins and drink pumpkin spice everything. It’s also one of my favorite seasons, because I can unabashedly eat enormous quantities of CANDY! My favorite candy is probably Peppermint Patties, Snickers, or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but I’ll really eat any of the chocolate candy. A Hershey bar is always a delicious treat as well. I know some people prefer the fruity, gummy or sour candies, but I always made trades if I received sour patch kids in my pumpkin bucket or pillowcase.
No matter what kind of candy you like, if you enjoy baking and are a little brave, you should try your hand at making it! We have lots of cooking and baking books at the library, and even some candy-making books.

If you prefer to just read about candy, we have some interesting books on the history of candy and even a biography of the Mars family (the M & M company).
