GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL — Ivy, a K-9 who works for the Glendale Heights Police Department, will soon receive new body armor to help protect her against bullet and stab wounds. The donation was made by Vested Interest in K-9s, Inc., which has gifted thousands of protective vests to K-9s since its founding in 2009.

Ivy, a bloodhound, signed on with the Glendale Heights Police Department in early 2024. Her hiring was made possible by the local cannabis dispensary Ivy Hall.

As a K-9, Ivy works with officer Gabrielle Lessner to locate missing persons and crime suspects.
