Man Arrested In Lombard After Fleeing 3 Traffic Stops: Police
Police say Jason Wesley, 32, had "numerous outstanding arrest warrants" at the time of the incident.

LOMBARD, IL — A Woodridge man who had "numerous outstanding arrest warrants" was taken into custody early Sunday in Lombard after police say he fled traffic stops in Carol Stream, Wheaton Elmhurst, and Villa Park.
Jason Wesley, 32, was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding a police office in connection with Sunday's incident. According to prosecutors, Wesley had previous warrants for criminal damage to property, retail theft and violating an order of protection.
Police say they first tried to pull Wesley over near Schmale Road and North Avenue in Carol Stream around 11:40 p.m. on July 6 for his outstanding warrants. Wesley is accused of accelerating at up to 109 mph and driving erratically, eastbound on North Avenue. The officers stopped pursuing Wesley, citing safety reasons.

Lombard police later tracked Wesley to Comfort Suites, where he was taken into custody.
“The allegations that a man with multiple active arrest warrants led police on three separate high-speed chases in one night are outrageous,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement.
He added, “Mr. Wesley’s alleged actions demonstrate a continued disregard for public safety and the rule of law, which will not be tolerated in DuPage County. Thankfully, no innocent motorists or bystanders were injured or worse, as a result of Mr. Wesley’s alleged actions. I urge everyone, if you hear sirens and see flashing lights behind you, pull over and cooperate with the police. Leading the police on a high-speed chase will only make matters worse."
Wesley is being held in DuPage County Jail and is set to appear in court Aug. 5.
