Metra Train Blocks Rail Crossing In Glen Ellyn: Police
Police were advising people to find an alternate route following a Monday morning medical emergency.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Police were advising people to find an alternate crossing Monday morning as a Metra train was blocking the Park Boulevard rail crossing. The crossing reopened at around 7:30 a.m.
According to a 7 a.m. social media post from the Glen Ellyn Police Department, the Prospect Avenue and Main Street crossings were open at the time of the incident.
Metra said the incident was a medical emergency, and commuters into downtown began boarding a different train (No. 20).

Police noted there is construction south of the tracks on Main Street that could lead to congestion. Alternate crossings such as the Taylor Street underpass are a better option, according to police.
