Residents Invited To Learn About New Glen Ellyn Metra Station Plans
The public information meeting will be held May 30 at Glen Ellyn Civic Center to discuss plans for the new Metra Station.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Residents are invited to a public meeting to learn about upgrades that are planned for the new Glen Ellyn Metra Station.
Village officials will be on hand at the meeting to present project needs, design options for parking and other elements of the new station. Attendees will also learn more about engineering reports and the proposed construction schedule.
Plans to replace the Glen Ellyn Metra Station have been underway since prior to the COVID pandemic. In 2019, the village was awarded a $14.4 million federal grant to help support the concept.

Expected upgrades include:
- Improved accessibility
- Reduced air emissions
- Easier access to PACE pickups and dropoffs
The train station upgrades coincide with the next phase of Glen Ellyn's ongoing streetscape and utility work. The streetscape work will include maintenance to sidewalks and roadways, upgrades to curbs and gutters and improvements to lighting and other utilities.

It's expected the train station upgrade project will begin construction in early 2026.
