Sign up for Glen Ellyn's Curbside Composting Pilot Program
Residents can opt into the Village of Glen Ellyn's residential composting program, which is the first of its kind in the area.

Representatives from the Village of Glen Ellyn say they are always looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly.
Effective this past April, the village instituted a curbside composting program that enables residents to recycle food scraps and yard waste that would otherwise be sent to a landfill.
As one of the first communities to adopt the program in DuPage County, Glen Ellyn is offering the pilot program to residents on a voluntary, subscription basis.

Those who opt in have the option of selecting from three sizes of wheeled carts — 35-gallon ($11.31/month), 65-gallon ($13.40/ month) or 95-gallon ($17.40/month). The program, billed year-round, will coincide with the village’s seasonal yard waste subscription program, which runs from April through November.
Subscribers who use the organics cart for their yard waste and food scraps will only be required to purchase yard waste bags or stickers for yard waste that doesn’t fit into the composting cart.
