Survey Mailed To All Glen Ellyn Water Customers

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) requires every water supplier to develop and implement a comprehensive cross connection control program to identify and monitor potential cross contamination locations, where a backflow device would be required. Typically, a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) device is used to protect the drinking water system from backflow or back siphonage.

A requirement of the program is to conduct a survey of all water customers every three years. Glen Ellyn customers will receive a survey postcard in the mail soon, if not already. A response to the survey is required, and the Village requests that all water customers complete this survey as soon as possible. The survey helps to identify locations where backflow protection is required by law.

Please follow the directions on the postcard for completion of this short survey. There is no cost and it takes only a few moments to complete. Surveys should be completed within 30 days of receipt of the postcard.

Note that if you have or require backflow protection, you may be notified for compliance (testing, repairs or installations) by Aqua Backflow.
