GLEN ELLYN, IL — Halloween has come and gone, so now it's time to figure out what to do with that quickly deteriorating old jack-o'-lantern. Grab a baseball bat and a shovel and head to Glen Ellyn Park District's Pumpkin Smash Saturday for a fun and sustainable way to dispose of those old gourds.

Residents can go to Village Green Park, 130 S. Lambert Rd. from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Nov. 8 to simply drop off their gourds or stick around to smash and chop their Halloween pumpkins. Candles, lights and other decorations should be removed from the jack-o'-lantern. Painted pumpkins will not be accepted.
