GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Police Department recently announced the village's suggested trick-or-treat times for Halloween 2025. It's recommended that trick-or-treaters head out between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Police also shared the following tips to help ensure a safe and happy Halloween: <ul><li>Stay in groups</li><li>Only approach homes that are well-lit</li><li>Stay on sidewalks</li><li>Cross streets at crosswalks</li><li>Carry a flashlight</li><li>Don't go into a stranger's house</li><li>Make sure parents inspect candy</li><li>Have children take a cellphone if they're not with an adult</li></ul> Just before Halloween, Glen Ellyn hosts its annual Halloween Festival and Parade. The event will take place downtown on Oct. 25, with the parade stepping off at 9:45 a.m. from Main and Crescent. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., kids can trick-or-treat at businesses downtown and take part in other Halloween-themed activities.
