$14K in Power Tools, Silverware Stolen from Henley St. Basement
There was also a dispute over a person who was kicking the back of another movie theater patron's seat.

Residential Burglary

Someone removed numerous power tools and silverware from the basement of a home in the 1800 block of Henley St in the two weeks prior to Oct. 9. The door to the basement was kept unlocked and there was no sign of forced entry. The estimated loss is $14,000.

Someone spray painted the letters “KK” and a circle in black on the ceiling at Metra North Train Station, 2301 Lehigh.
Harassment by Telephone
A complainant reported they were being harassed and said the offender left messages on their work answering machine. The offender was contacted and told to stop calling.
Battery
A Chicago resident reported that while sitting in the theater at 1850 Tower Dr. Oct. 10, a female kicked her chair repeatedly and when asked to stop, kicked the chair hard enough to hurt the woman. The complainant left the theater and waited for the movie to end at which point she confronted the female who apologized.
Disorderly Conduct
Police received a call at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 10 that the driver of a silver Toyota driving east on East Lake Avenue from Pfingsten Road was masturbating while driving. The owner of the Toyota was called and was cooperative but adamantly denied masturbating while driving and believes the caller mistook his actions.
Retail Theft
An employee for a business in the 2200 block of Willow Rd. reported a retail theft that occurred on Oct. 10 at 4:30 p.m. 10/10/2014 at 1620 hours. The theft was discovered after reviewing security footage. The footage shows a male entering the store and pulling a garbage bag from under his clothes, than putting several items in the bag and leaving the store. The estimated loss is $1,129.
Residential Burglary
A resident in the 1900 block of Franklin Dr. reported sometime between 6:30 and 11 p.m., someone entered their second floor bedroom window after prying it open. The offender ransacked the bedroom but at this time it was unknown what was taken. It is unknown how the offender was able to reach the second floor window.
Criminal Damage to Property
An employee of a business in the 1700 block of Waukegan Rd. reported someone damaged a lock an employee placed on a unit that was set for auction due to non-payment. The employee believes the offender is the person who originally rented the unit.
Disorderly Conduct
A resident of the 2800 block of Independence Ave. reported three teenagers have been “ding dong ditching” their home every Sunday between 7 and 11 p.m. for the last five months. They do not know who they are but would like to sign a complaint.
Battery
The complainant reported being battered by an acquaintance while in the parking lot of a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Ave. at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 13. The offender fled in a small white SUV prior to police arrival.
