Downtown Glenview Dominick's Finally Going Down

Demolition of the former downtown Glenview Dominick's store began this week, and the Cleveland-based Heinen’s Fine Foods is poised to fill the spot around Novemeber, the Glenview Announcements reports.

Glenview's director of planning, Mary Bak, told the Glenview Announcements the new grocery store plans to spend $10 to $12 million on a new 35,000-square-foot Heinen's at 1020 Waukegan Road.

Recently, Glenview firefighters used the vacant Dominick's to exercise under simulated fire conditions, according to the village website.
