Faye Schwartz nee Becker, 98

Beloved wife of 62 years of the late Raymond A. Schwartz. Devoted mother of Mark (the late Leslie Schwartz) and Myra Schwartz. Proud grandmother of Robert (Shana) Schwartz and great grandmother of Lily Rachel Schwartz. Dear sister of Selma Wolf, and the late Bernie Becker, and aunt to over 100 loving nieces, nephews, and special friends. Born in Philadelphia, Faye graduated from Von Steuben High School in 1943, married Raymond after his return from service in WWII, and gladly gave up her dream of higher education to raise a family. Faye was known far and wide for her Mandel bread and chocolate chip cookies. Though stricken with profound hearing loss late in life, she maintained her sense of humor with a loving and friendly disposition, and became a voracious reader. Faye could "hear" every conversation, every sentence, and every word in a book, something she only wished she could do in her daily life. After battling Alzheimer's, Faye died on Saturday, June 24. Until the final days of her life, she never let her illness diminish her capacity to express her love for her family. Somehow, she always found a way to let people know that she cared about them.

Service Wednesday, June 28, 1PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Road, (one block north of Lake Cook Road), Buffalo Grove. Interment Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery. Shiva to follow the interment at Chicago Jewish Funerals Chapel until 5PM.
