Glenview Shows Signs of Spring

The Village has started cleaning streets and patching potholes to prepare the community for warmer weather.

The Village of Glenview recently highlighted some of its "spring cleaning" projects in a the latest community newsletter.

  • Crews have begun sweeping Glenview streets, curbed and non-curbed, as well as roadways maintained by the State of Illinois and Cook County. There is a lot of dust to shake up!
  • Pothole-patching crews began moving through residential areas, with potholes emerging during this typical freeze-and-thaw pattern.
  • Survey crews are making the rounds to find streets with cracks that need to be sealed and or have worn or missing thermoplastic lane markings, as well as sidewalk hazards.
  • The Village and Glenview Park District have been conducting spring controlled landscape burns in some of Glenview's natural areas, including neighborhood detention basins, Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie and the Techny Basin.
