Hate Symbols Written In Chalk Found On Sidewalk: Glenview Police Blotter

Police said the incident occurred in the 2500 block of Happy Hollow Road.

A resident reported at 11:12 a.m. Dec. 23, finding several hate symbols written in chalk on the sidewalk in the 2500 block of Happy Hollow Road.

BATTERY

Two people were involved in a physical altercation at 12:19 a.m. Dec. 24, in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

It was reported at 9 a.m. Dec. 24, a catalytic converter had been stolen from a vehicle while it was parked in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Total loss is $700.

RETAIL THEFT

An employee of a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 7:37 a.m. Dec. 24, someone had stolen merchandise totaling $1,240.50.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A Bonnie Glen Lane resident reported at 11:43 a.m. Dec. 25, receiving a dinner invitation via email from a friend. The email contained an attachment which contained malware when opened that infected their computer and compromised usernames and passwords for financial accounts. No financial loss at this time.
  • A Jenna Road resident reported at 1:15 p.m. Dec. 27, someone had hacked their Amazon account and purchased over $183,725.48 worth of merchandise.

THEFT

A resident of the 1700 block of Rogers Avenue called police at 10:44 a.m. Dec. 27, to report a former employee did not return tools provided for work.

FLEEING/ELUDING POLICE

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle at 8:32 p.m. Dec. 27, in the 300 block of East Lake Avenue after observing traffic violations. The vehicle continued driving eastbound before getting onto the eastbound ramp of I-94. Officers did not follow the vehicle.
