Northbrook's New House 406 Getting Mostly Rave Reviews

Northbrook’s newest fine dining restaurant, House 406, has gotten mostly favorable reviews so far on Yelp.

Of the seven posted reviews as of Wednesday afternoon, five awarded the full five stars, one gave three stars and one gave only two.

From the raves:

“It’s nice to have a “hip” downtown type restaurant with exciting and creative dishes. Our party of 6 all loved what we had,” wrote David O. from Northbrook.

“Have been there multiple times since opening week and have yet to have a dish that is less than exceptional. Some of my favorites are the lobster and shrimp sliders, harvest salad and the New York Strip,” wrote Judy R. from Northbrook.

“This restaurant is as good as it gets; I can’t believe it’s in Northbrook. It was like walking into a downtown restaurant,” wrote Ellyn O. from Deerfield.

From the needs improvement category:

“Thought it was a little pricy for what we got. Unless this so called steakhouse adds more meat choices, I doubt we will be back. Disappointed!” wrote Michael L. from Northbrook.

“I’m going to give them a couple of months to figure things out and work out the kinks. First visit was disappointing, but I am hoping they iron out the details,” wrote Michele R. from Highland Park.
