Party Band Sixteen Candles Slated To Headline Glenview's Blocktoberfest

GLENVIEW, IL — Blocktoberfest is set to rock downtown Glenview once again. The annual affair, presented by Friends of Downtown Glenview, will feature live music, food and family entertainment.

The fun is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, in downtown Glenview along Glenview Road (between Church and Pine streets). Admission is free. Busey Bank and Fields Auto Group are the lead sponsors.

Food and beverages, including a variety of beer, wine and hard seltzer, will be available for purchase at Blocktoberfest 2025. New this year, tickets are no longer needed. Attendees can go directly to the food and beverage providers to pay by cash or credit card.

According to Friends of Downtown Glenview, party band Sixteen Candles will headline the musical portion of the affair. The band "brings all the great 80s songs to life in full force" in a crowd-pleasing show.

Music will be performed on two stages, starting at 11 a.mm with the German-inspired band Polka Confetti, followed by a revolving line-up of Sweeney, Twelve Tone band, Oil Lamp, Band of Very Ordinary Musicians. Head’s All Empty, Chicken Bone, Alphorns (a unique performance featuring the 12-foot-long wooden instruments), Chris Karabas, Blue Rose, and Joey Acopiado. Sixteen Candles will close the show with a two-hour set.

There will also be plenty of activities for the young ones with the Kid Zone open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring crafts, games, balloon art, costumed characters and more.

A special VIP Sponsor Lounge offering premium views of the bands plus several other amenities including deluxe restrooms, food and beverages, and merchandise can be enjoyed for $100 per person when purchased in advance, $125 day of show.
