Phyllis Pesce: A Downtown Glenview Secret
The 87-year-old antique store owner keeps her small shop open every day to keep herself busy.
Chances are, you haven't been to the small antique store at 1755 Glenview Rd., in the Patio Shops in downtown Glenview. Owner and operator, Phyllis Pesce, an 87-year-old Glenview resident and New York native says people don't come by the store very often.
"There's no traffic," Pesce said. "You don't get anyone off the street."
The store is usually open 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., seven days a week. Pesce calls the store, simply called Resale & Antique, her home.

"When you reach 87, you have to keep busy," she said. "Most other women my age are in a nursing home, assisted living, I don't want that."
To enter the store, you need to ring a bell and Pesce welcomes you in. Once inside, you're surrounded by a small museum of old clothes, gifts and collectibles.
