Police: 5 Burglary Reports in One Week

A recap of last week's residential and vehicular burglary reports.

The following reports were provided by the Glenview Police Department. 

Residential Burglary

On April 4, someone on the 3700 block of Ari Lane reported two men came to their door claiming they were doing work on a neighbor’s house and they needed the complainant to come outside to show them the property line, according to police. While outside, one of the men was speaking on some type of hand held radio, according to the report. The residents learned later their house had been entered and jewelry worth about $1,850.00 was stolen from a bedroom, police say.

On April 6, someone on the 2400 block of Waukegan Road reported seeing a male exit their front door as they drove up to their home, according to police. The subject ran from the scene and could not be located, police say. Method of entry was not clear, and nothing appeared taken, according to the report.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

On April 2, a Glenview resident reported someone burglarized their vehicle while it was parked at a business on the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue, according to police. Entry was made by breaking the driver’s door window, police say. Taken was a bag which contained keys and miscellaneous papers, according to the police. Reported loss is $285.00.

On April 6,  a Glenview resident reported someone burglarized their unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the driveway of a residence on the 1700 block of Bluestem Lane, according to police. A wallet and a GPS unit were taken, police say. Reported loss is $180.00.

That day, someone else reported their unlocked vehicle was burglarized while it was parked at a residence on the 1700 block of Jefferson Avenue, according to police. A GPS unit worth about $120.00 was taken, police say.
