Stolen Car Sold Over the Internet

A Glenview resident bought a car from a man after connecting online, and later discovered the car was stolen in Northbrook.

The following reports were provided by the Glenview Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and not evidence of guilt.

Theft

On May 1, a Glenview resident reported they purchased a car from a man they met through an online posting, according to police. The two met at a business in Glenview, the resident gave the man $9,950.00 for the car and received a title for the car, according to police. The resident later discovered the title was a forgery and the vehicle was previously stolen from Northbrook, police say.

Vehicular Burglaries

On May 5, four people reported their cars were burglarized while parked near a business on the 1800 block Landwehr Road, according to police. Four purses were reported stolen, with a combined value of about $5,915.00, according to police.

Battery

On May 4, Louis Pissios, 22, of Glenview, was arrested on the 4100 block of Cove Lane and charged with battery, according to police. He was released on a $1,000.00 bond and his court date was set for June 4, police say.

DUI

On May 5, William Fergus, 21, of Glenview, was arrested on the 700 block of Waukegan Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a BAC. 08 or more and no rear registration plate light, according to police. He was released on a $1,000.00 bond and his court date was set for June 18, police say.
