1 Dead In Crash Near Antioch

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Authorities are working to identify a male driver who was killed in a single-vehicle collision near Antioch early Monday.

The crash happened at about 4:45 a.m. on Grass Lake Road and Bluff Lane in unincorporated Antioch, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office. Police found the 2009 Pontiac Vibe, which collided with a tree, on the south side of the roadway.

The male driver, who has not yet been identified, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office has responded and an autopsy has been scheduled.
