5 Lake County Businesses Ticketed For Selling Alcohol To Minors
During August and September 2019, the sheriff's office said these five of the 62 establishments tested sold alcohol to someone under 21.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported the results of alcohol compliance checks recently conducted by members of the sheriff's office at Lake County liquor selling establishments, in an effort to ensure businesses are not selling to anyone under the age of 21, according to a release from the sheriff's office. During August and September 2019, the sheriff's office said five of the 62 establishments tested sold alcohol to someone under the age of 21.

According to the sheriff's office, the clerks in violation were ticketed for selling liquor to a minor and are required to appear in Waukegan court. The sheriff's office added that notice of their violations were sent to their respective liquor commission jurisdictions.
The businesses checked include "those within the jurisdiction of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, or communities which contract with the Sheriff’s Office for policing services, not those within municipal city/village limits," the release stated.
