Advocate Condell to Host Sports Injury Panel

As your children prepare to go back to school, learn about how to keep them safe on the field.

Parents, are you concerned about your children being injured while playing sports in school?

Advocate Condell Medical Center will host a special panel Aug. 1 to discuss how to prevent fall sports injuries.

"More children than ever are competing in organized sports, and as their numbers increase, so do sports-related injuries," Advocate Condell officials said in a statement. "We have assembled an extraordinary panel of clinical experts to educate parents and coaches on keeping kids safe while playing fall sports at the club, high school, middle or elementary school level."

The panel will include the following individuals: Mark Neault, MD, Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, who will discuss playing sports safely at all levels, signs and symptoms of common sports injuries, conservative treatments, and guidelines for return to play; and Robert Johnson, MD, Board Certified Cardiologist, who will discuss cardiac health and sports.

The program will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Advocate Condell Medical Conference Center, 700 Garfield Ave., Libertyville. This program is free but registration is required. Call 800-323-8622 and use Code 5G47.
