Authorities Investigate Blaze At Vacant Home In Grayslake

The Grayslake Fire District was called to the fire at the single-family home in the 400 block of South Lake Street.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — No one was injured in a blaze that broke out over the weekend at a vacant home in Grayslake.

The Grayslake Fire District was called to the fire at the single-family home in the 400 block of South Lake Street at about 10 a.m., according to a news release from the fire district. Crews first at the scene were able to put out the fire located outside the home but then found the blaze had spread to the attic area.

The home had multiple roof additions, "which made locating and extinguishing the fire more difficult," fire officials said. The fire was put at about 11 p.m.
