Car Crashes Into Lake County Brewery: Police

ANTIOCH, IL — A car crashed into a brewery in Antioch Thursday morning, authorities said.

The collision happened at about 8:10 a.m. when the 2006 Volvo crashed into The Rivalry Ale House, 945 Main Street, according to a news release from the Antioch Police Department.

Authorities say the collision happened when a 43-year-old Antioch woman thought she'd put her car in park in the parking lot of the brewery but did not, police said. The car accelerated and crashed into the building.

The woman was issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid registration and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was not injured in the collision, police said.

The building department responded and a board up service will be in the area to secure the building, according to police.
