Coroner IDs Man, 22, Fatally Hit By Metra Train
Richard Hayes II died after he was hit by the Metra train on the tracks near the Ingleside train station on Saturday night.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified a 22-year-old Ingleside man killed when he was hit by a train Saturday night in Ingleside.
Richard Hayes II died after he was hit by the Metra train on the tracks near the Ingleside train station at about 10:20 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the coroner's office. Emergency personnel found him under the train, and took him to Advocate Condell Medical Center where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
Preliminary results from an autopsy show Hayes died from blunt force injuries as a result of the collision.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
