Coroner IDs Pedestrian Killed On I-94
The 21-year-old was hit by a semi truck on Interstate 94 near Route 21 in Gurnee on Saturday.
GURNEE, IL — One person is dead after being hit by a semi truck on Interstate 94 in Gurnee Saturday morning.
The incident happened at about 11 a.m. Saturday on I-94 at mile marker 10 when a white semi-truck pulling a trailer hit the pedestrian in the westbound lanes of traffic near Route 21, according to a news release from the Gurnee Police Department.
The person hit by the semi has been identified as Nikolay Krupp, 21, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

An autopsy was conducted on Monday and shows Krupp died from blunt force injuries as a results of a crash, according to authorities.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
