The passage will mean the district will pay off an existing long-term debt before the new limiting rate increase is implemented so the total tax rate for CCSD 46 will be reduced by 10 cents and taxes on a home with a fair market value of $300,000 will go down by an estimated $90.45 annually, according to a news release from District 46.
Proceeds will be used to fund emergency response systems and security cameras; address critical operating needs; to maintain and repair infrastructure; to enhance ADA accessibility; and to improve learning environments for all students, District 46 officials said.
